The New World Order marks a significant shift in global governance, indicating a decline in Western dominance and evolving multilateralism that differs from liberal international norms. India's role in this context is largely unexplored, but analysis of its pragmatic responses, distinct from normative approaches, provides valuable insights. Three key elements shape this Order: (1) multipolarity, (2) strategic autonomy, and (3) governance reform, structured along six dimensions: (a) economic, (b) security, (c) normative, (d) technological, (e) climate, and (f) social. These factors present challenges and opportunities for India's foreign policy, prompting a closer examination. India's strategies in response to these components reveal chances for selective involvement in the New World Order, highlighting the need for strategic clarity amidst pressure for alignment and reform engagement. Strengthening domestic capabilities could enhance India's credibility and leadership in relevant coalitions. As rising powers often disregard calls to engage with existing orders, a potential New World Disorder might emerge. The post-Cold War governance landscape appears multipolar without a dominant hegemon, and the New World Order remains ambiguously defined. Further analysis of India's position and initiatives is necessary as changes unfold. (Gonzalez Castaneda, 2017)(Prakash, 2018)
